Scalesia Foundation

The Scalesia Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to carrying out activities to improve education in Galapagos. It was founded in 1991 as a community initiative on Santa Cruz Island.

  1. To contribute to national and international efforts for the development of education, culture, science, and protection of Galapagos.

  2. To establish educational centers aimed at comprehensive training with an ecological and humanistic vocation.

  3. Encourage community participation in the cultural, educational and scientific dimensions of Galapagos.

The SF will carry out projects to improve environmental education in Galapagos based on principles of sustainability for a harmonious relationship between the fragile island ecosystems and the activities that take place in them. These projects include place-based education, project-based learning, permaculture and agroecology principles, empathy education, and others.

In addition, this funding will complement efforts to support the implementation of educational improvements in the province's schools through a teacher training program that reaches nearly 7,000 students in the province.

With a purchase of an Enchanted Creature, you are contributing to the financing of this organization.
